COMMON MANAGEMENT ADMISSION TEST-2020-EXAM ANALYSIS
CMAT is a national level management entrance test, held once every year for admissions at top management colleges all over India.
Common Management Admission Test-2020 (CMAT) was held on 28th January 2020; CMAT is a computer based test conducted every year on third Sunday of January by National Test Agency. The test was first initiated in 2012. It is a national-level admission test for facilitating institutions to select suitable students for admission in all management programs approved by AICTE. Common Management Admission Test - CMAT as a screening test for admissions to more than 600 management colleges that offer MBA or/ and PGDM programs. Some of the top ranked colleges in India use CMAT scores for admission to their management programs.

CMAT-2020-Test Analysis
CMAT was organized on 28th of January 2020 in 9:30-12:30 time slot; there were no surprises in the exam this year except in verbal section. The difficulty level was easy to moderate. The Verbal section was comparatively more difficult and Data Interpretation was lengthy in comparison to last year. GK questions were tricky with a mixture of static and current affairs. But in a nutshell, the exam was easier which means the cutoffs will be higher than regular for admissions at top B-Schools.
CMAT-DI and Maths Sections-Detailed Analysis
This section had questions based on conventional areas. There were questions from Geometry and Mensuration, and the rest Quantitative Technique questions were from Arithmetic. Few questions were from Ratio, Percentage, Interest, Time and work. The level of difficulty of this section was moderate. Data Interpretation questions were lengthy, time taking and individual in place of blocks.
CMAT-Language Section-Detailed Analysis
This section had one passage instead of four passages earlier, so this was one major change this year. Most of the questions were either tricky or inference based. A few questions based on critical reasoning featured in RC. Verbal ability questions were again of easy to moderate level and were from areas such as Vocabulary (antonym, synonym and contextual), Sentence Correction , Grammar Part error , Para Jumble and Sentence Completion, spellings, & one word substitution . The difficulty level can be judged between easy to moderate in comparison with other sections.
CMAT-General Awareness Section-Detailed Analysis
Around 2-3 questions were from current affairs and if one reads the newspaper or has a good knowledge of what’s going on in the world could have attempted around 6-8 questions quite easily. Static GK questions dominated the paper and questions were from Awards, Science, Politics, International events etc. Mainly the GA part was from current affairs, so know-how of the world will easily fetch a candidate a decent score.
