Indian School of Mines Dhanbad’s department of Management studies is a premier institute in the field of industrial management located in the state of Jharkhand.
The Department of Management Studies, IIT(ISM) Dhanbad is the business school of the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad which was established in 1977, and the institute started its management programs in 1997. The Department admits students on the basis of the Common Admission Test (CAT). Recently the B-School was ranked 32ndposition in NIRF 2019 rankings introduced by the MHRD. The college has proved its worth in the field of Management year by year.
ISM-IIT-Dhanbad-Admission and Eligibility Criteria
- Graduates (or professional qualification equivalent to that of a University degree recognized by the UGC) in any discipline with first class or having 60% marks or CGPA of 6.5 out of 10 or 50% for SC/ST/PD in their degree from a recognized University with Mathematics/Statistics as one of the subjects in Bachelor’s Degree.
- Final year students are also eligible to apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally, on the condition that they meet all the requirements for the qualifying degree before the start of the program and will produce the provisional certificate of completion of the program latest by September 30, 2020.
- Shortlist for the interview process will be announced by the respective institute. Only those who are shortlisted will be invited to the interview process (the Written Ability Test and Personal Interview). Shortlisted applicants will be contacted to upload copies of necessary certificates by the respective institute.
- All applicants should have a valid CAT-2019 score.
- The students who have a B.Tech degree from IIT with 8.0 CGPA out of 10 are exempted from appearing in the CAT.

- The candidate must have applied, appeared and scored the minimum required sectional and overall percentile in respective entrance exams to be considered for first stage screening process for admission at JISM-IIT-Dhanbad.
- Candidate must apply for MBA Admission 2020 at ISM-IIT-Dhanbadlatest by the prescribed date.
- Candidates are short-listed for Personal Interview (PI), GD and Written Assessment Test from among the candidates who have a valid entrance test score, and also have applied for admission to ISM-IIT-DhanbadMBA Program.
- The WAT & PI will be held first for domestic candidates. For International candidates, the WAT& PI will be held thereafter. After the WAT & PI round, admission offers are made by ISM-IIT-Dhanbadto successful candidates. The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in Entrance exams, performance in WAT & PI, academics, extra-curricular achievements, work experience among others.
- Final Admission Offer will be made to the candidates in the last week of April 2020 on the basis of the Final Score arrived after awarding the weightage scores on all the components.
