PREPARATION TIPS FOR IIFT-2020

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade is a premium B-School in Delhi-NCR, established in 1963 to help professionalize the country's foreign trade management and increase exports by developing human resources; generating, analyzing and disseminating data; and conducting research. Its flagship program is the Master of Business Administration in International Business (MBA-IB). IIFT was granted the status of deemed university in 2002, it is the top notch institute which is solely concerned on cultivating managers which will push forward country’s Import-Export industry for corporate or government.
IIFT conducts its own entrance tests every year for admissions to their 3 campuses namely in New Delhi, Kolkata and Kakinada, every year thousands of aspirants appear for IIFT entrance test, in 2020 itself, approx 40000 students have registered for the IIFT exam. IIFT exam date is Sunday, December 1, 2019. IIFT Admit card is available for download at NTA-IIFT website. The paper mode from this year will be CBT.
IIFT-Pattern and key changes in exam 2020
IIFT has informed about the following key changes in the IIFT 2020 MBA entrance test:
  • IIFT 2020 MBA (IB) Entrance exam will be conducted by NTA and not by IIFT
  • IIFT Entrance exam will be a computer based test on December 1, 2019
  • IIFT entrance exam 2020 schedule has been released by NTA and not by IIFT on August 21 instead of July
  • Number of sections, scoring pattern in IIFT entrance exam 2020 may change
  • IIFT Exam 2020 may or may not offer admission opportunity to Kakinada campus

 Preparation Tips-

  • Solve IIFT Previous Years Question Papers- Candidates must solve previous years question papers. Practicing previous years question papers plays a great role in the preparation of any exam. Past year question papers are the best sources to get an idea about the questions asked in IIFT exam. So, students must practice previous year papers for a better understanding of the pattern of the exam.

  • Time management-Since there is sectional cut off in this exam, aspirants have to pay equal attention to each section and have to manage their time as they attempt each and every section. The aim should be to first meet the sectional cut off and then capitalize on it.

  • Revise Formulas and Key Points-At this point, the basic motive should be revising the formulas whether in quant or DI-LR, in the last moment you cannot solve all the topics but you can jog up formulas from every topic, and remember to not waste time on something which cannot be completed in the short span of time.

  • Form a Strategy-A Strategy in approaching the IIFT exam is very important, as important as the syllabus preparing part, if you don’t form any strategies you will get indulge in wasting time on unnecessary issues and resulting in a bad overall score and that will not be good. Now the question arises how to form and what to form in a strategy, so a perfect answer would be if you had attempted enough mock tests and had prepared on almost every topic, you will get to know the structure of strategy. So go solve as much as you can.
