IIFT 2019-DETAILED EXAM ANALYSIS
Indian Institute of Foreign Trade is a premium B-School in Delhi-NCR, established in 1963 to help professionalize the country's foreign trade management and increase exports by developing human resources; generating, analyzing and disseminating data; and conducting research. IIFT conducts its own entrance tests every year for admissions to their 3 campuses namely in New Delhi, Kolkata and Kakinada, every year thousands of aspirants appear for IIFT entrance test, in 2020 itself, approx 40000 students have registered for the IIFT exam. IIFT exam date is Sunday, December 1, 2019. IIFT Admit card is available for download at NTA-IIFT website. The paper mode from this year will be CBT.
The first computer based IIFT entrance 2020 exam conducted by NTA threw many surprises although the difficulty level was found easier than last year. Approx 40000 candidates have registered and applied for IIFT MBA (IB) 2020 admission and it is reported that about 35000 candidates have taken IIFT MBA 2020 entrance test vying for 420 total seats in IIFT Delhi Kolkata and Kakinada campuses.
Key changes in the IIFT exam-2020
- IIFT 2020 exam had 4 Major Sections instead of 6 with variable number of questions
- IIFT Exam format changed to Computer based test
- First IIFT exam conducted by NTA
- VARC, Quant, DILR had same scoring pattern while GK had different scoring pattern
- 5 RC Passages followed by 16 questions appeared in the exam. Passages were considered lengthier
- Data Interpretation questions were more calculation intensive
- Quant was moderate
- More Arithmetic intensive questions appeared in IIFT 2020 MBA entrance exam
VA-RC section analysis
VARC section had 35 questions and was easier than last year, Maximum score was 105 marks, and RC Based questions were 16 and 19 MCQs, out of which All 16 RC Based questions were doable. 10-12 questions in Verbal Ability were doable and could be solved without deploying too much effort, also Grammar based 3 questions were on easier side. Para jumbles were doable and the questions on Fill in the Blanks were also not difficult. In short VA-RC section wasn’t much difficult and was on the comfort side.
Quant Section analysis
QA section in IIFT 2020 had 25 questions (All MCQs) and Maximum available score was 75 marks, there were more Arithmetic based questions in this section, quant Section was lengthy demanded more time, Estimated time to solve the 12-14 questions needed was 32-35 minutes, 12-13 questions could be considered good attempt to fetch 30 marks.
DI-LR section analysis
DILR Section had 30 questions (All MCQs) and Maximum available score was 90 marks out of 300, the LR part was more difficult than DI part. In Logical Reasoning, the questions based on Missing number, set theory, input-output were easier than the question sets on circular arrangement and mirror Candidates could attempt 9-10 questions from DI and 5-6 from LR, An attempt of 13-14 questions with 90% accuracy could be attempted.
