JEE Main 2021 Eligibility Criteria has been released along with the official JEE Main 2021 brochure at the official website @ jeemain.nta.nic.in. All the appearing candidates are suggested to understand and check all the JEE Main 2021 Eligibility Criteria thoroughly before applying for the JEE Main 2021 Entrance examination.

JEE Main 2021 Eligibility Criteria consists of many important details such as Age limit, Educational Qualification, Marks obtained in 10+2, Nationality, etc. Those who are applying for JEE Main 2021 and are unable to meet the standard eligibility criteria would be rejected by NTA at any stage of admission.

Not just the JEE Main 2021 eligibility criteria, aspirants must also fulfil the eligibility criteria specifically of the institute in which they have to get the admission. JEE Main 2021 is going to be conducted for getting admission into various undergraduate programmes at NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. JEE Main also acts as a screening process for JEE Advanced 2021.

JEE Main 2021: Age Limit

There is no particular age limit to apply for JEE Main 2021 as anyone who has cleared their 10+2 examination in 2019/ 2020 or is appearing in 2021 is eligible to apply for JEE main 2021 entrance examination.

JEE Main 2021: List For Qualifying Examination

1.       Class 12th pass out by Central or State Board such as CBSE, New Delhi

2.      Must have cleared Intermediate or two year Pre University Examination from a recognized Board or University

3.      Have cleared final examination of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy (2 years course)

4.      10+2 from NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) with a minimum of five subjects

5.      Board/ Public School or University examination in India or Foreign considered as 10+2 equivalent by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)

6.      GCE that is General Certificate Education examination from Cambridge/ London/ Sri Lanka (Advanced A Level)

7.      AICTE recognized Diploma or a Diploma recognized by State board of technical education with a minimum 3 years of duration

8.     Vocational Examination- High School Certificate

9.      HSC examination at Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva

JEE Main: Eligibility Details

Those who have passed 10+2 examination in the year 2019/ 2020 or is appearing in 2021 is eligible to apply for JEE main 2021 entrance examination

Aspirants can apply for JEE Main for 3 years consecutively. The JEE main 2021 examination is going to be conducted 4 times in Feb, March, April and May respectively

To get admissions in NITs, IIITs and GFTIs the subject combinations are as follows:

Must have passed the qualifying examination with:

  • B.Tech/ B.E

a)     Physics

b)     Mathematics

c)      Any one of (Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject)

  • B.Arch

a)     Mathematics

b)     Physics

c)      Chemistry

  • B.Plan

a)     Mathematics

JEE Main 2021: Details of State Of Eligibility

1.       Apart from the above mentioned eligibility details, the candidates are also required to fill the state code from where the candidate has done class 12th

2.      The State of Eligibility Code has nothing to do with the native place of the candidate or the born place or residence

3.      Considering that, you must be aware of the fact that if a student have passed 10+2 from a state but have appeared for some improvement exam from some other state, then consequently, the state code from where the candidate have originally passed the 10+2 examination will be considered

4.      Those who have completed 10+2 from NIOS, their study centre location will be considered as state eligibility code

5.      Candidates who have passed 10+2 from Nepal/ Bhutan must be aware of the fact that their state code will be considered on the basis of permanent address in India as in the passport of the candidate

6.      OCI/PIO passing Class 12th standard exam State Code will be according to Indian Nationals and will be considered eligible for other state quota seats or All India quota seats in all NITs, IIEST and Other-CFTIs excluding Home State quota seats
