Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the main chief guest at the centenary function of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). PM Modi will attend the Centenary by means of video conferencing on the 22nd of December 2020. PM Modi is going to attend the conference virtually alongside Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.

Expressing gratitude toward the PM for accepting the invitation to participate in the function for completion of 100 years of the university, Vice-Chancellor Professor Mansoor stated, "The outreach of the university during this historical year would immensely help in the growth and development of the university and placement of our students in the private and public sectors."

Mansoor spoke to the college network to invest in all amounts of energy for the accomplishment of the approaching projects and asked the staff individuals, students, and AMU's well-wishers for their dynamic cooperation. He mentioned individuals to keep the century programs above legislative issues much the same as Republic Day, Independence Day, Milad-un-Nabi, and Gandhi Jayanti festivities are kept above political contrasts.

He also stated that President Ram Nath Kovind is expected to join the online century functions of the college.

The VC also stated "Centenary is a great landmark achievement in the history of any university. AMU and its various units, as well as Alumni Associations, have been organizing various programmes attended by illustrious people from diverse fields through the virtual mode following the Government of India's guidelines to curb the spread of Covid-19 pandemic".

As a premier foundation of higher education, AMU has given the Nation two Bharat Ratnas - Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan also called 'Frontier Gandhi' and Dr. Zakir Husain.

Since its initiation, the college has been creating fundamental commitments to various parts of knowledge and a large number of its students and faculties have been granted Padma awards, the President's Award, Saraswati, Gyan Peeth Awards, and Sahitya Akademi awards. Its Scientists Alumni class has been chosen as Fellows of the Indian National Science Academy (INSA) and met with the 'Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize' and a few other renowned honors.
