CAREER OPTIONS AFTER 12TH WITH PCB

As of today, there are a vast number of choices available for a student who has completed their class 12th with PCB, after completing class 10th many students gets puzzled on choosing which stream out of Arts/Commerce/Science. If you think science is best, then you need to again choose between PCB and PCM. PCM generally takes into you technological aspects and PCB will take you into mostly medical and related fields. But unlike engineering, the medical field offers several options to students. Choosing the right course after 12th is extremely important because a well-thought-out decision can lead to a rewarding career or may become a basis for the post graduation course. It is difficult to pick one because there are so many good options, which have a good scope but we do not know which is appropriate for us. 
Career choices after 12th with PCB
  • Medical- Medical remains the most popular choice after completing class 12th with PCB. Medical course whether it be MBBS or BHMS/BAMS etc. The first requirement is to clear NEET and/or the state medical entrance exams and secure a seat in a medical college. The undergraduate programs – MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery), BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) and BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery) are of 5 years. Upon completion, the student can opt for postgraduate studies for specialization.  

  • Dentist- Dentistry is a branch of medicine that specifically deals with the oral cavity. The first requirement is to clear NEET and/or the state medical entrance exams and secure a seat in a medical college. The undergraduate programs BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) is of 5 years. Upon completion, the student can opt for postgraduate studies for specialization or can continue their dentistry by BDS degree

  • Pharmacy- Pharmacists/chemists/druggists are healthcare professionals who practice in pharmacy, the field of health sciences focusing on safe and effective medication use. The student must obtain a B. Pharmacy (Bachelor of Pharmacy) degree at a pharmacy school or related institution. Pharmacy degree is the second best choice for the students who can’t get into medical college or simply don’t want to pursue career in medical.

  • Nursing- Nursing is a profession within the health care sector that focuses on the care of patients. A student has to obtain a BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing), a four-year undergraduate degree. Advanced education at the graduate level is for specialization as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) or for advanced roles in leadership, management, or education. Nurses are taught basic medical practices for taking care in aspect of a patient and their health conditions.

  • Bachelors of Science- Bachelors of Science or B.Sc. is the bachelors program which is just like the bachelors courses in commerce or arts, only difference is of B. Sc. is focused on science.  Almost all colleges and universities which are into bachelors degree program, conducts B. Sc. too.  For getting into B. Sc. you just need to pass respective entrance exams conducted by certain colleges and universities, B. Sc. can be done in many subjects such as physics, biology, chemistry, technological sciences, agricultural sciences, mutations and genes etc.
