Maharashtra Common Entrance Test 2020 is likely to start registration into their state MBA/PGDM programs from 3rd week of January 2020 (This is the tentative date, actual dates may differ). This entrance test is focused on Maharashtra state wide management colleges and B-schools and universities, many top colleges in Pune and Mumbai accepts admission through MH- CET, It is one of the most anticipated and highly state level entrance tests in the country. Students from any state may apply to MH- CET. MH- CET also known as MAH- CET is organized by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra. Candidates appearing for the entrance test must qualify it in order to get admission in various institutions located in this state. More than 300 Business Schools accepts admission through MH-CET into their respective MBA and PGDM.  Fees for students from any state is 1000 Rs. In general category, and 800 Rs. for reserved candidates.
MH-CET Eligibility Criteria
  • Nationality: Candidate who is a resident of India and who belongs to India (NRI, OCI, PIO) can apply for this exam.
  • Educational Qualification: Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • Appearing: Candidates who are in final year of graduation are also eligible to apply.
  • Marks Required: Candidate must have secured minimum aggregate score of 50% marks and (45% marks for OBC /PWD of Maharashtra state) in their bachelor’s degree.

MH- CET 2020 Exam details and syllabus
  • Exam Mode: The entrance exam will be conducted through online mode which will be a Computer Based Test (CBT).
  • Total Questions: Total questions in the paper will be 200, which will contain questions on various topics on Reasoning, English and Quantitative Aptitude.
  • Type of Questions: Questions will be of multiple-choice type, each question will follow a series of 4 options, candidates have to choose the correct answer from given options.
  • Language of Exam: The exam will be in English language only.
  • Duration of Exam: The exam will be of 150 Minutes or 2 hours 30 minutes, with no allotted time to a particular secti0on
  • Marks: The question paper will be of total 200 marks, which will cover various topics on Reasoning, English and Quantitative Aptitude.
  • Marking: Candidates will get 1 mark for every right answer and no marks will be deducted for wrong answers, which mean there is no negative marking.
Logical Reasoning will contain 75 questions; of 1 mark each making it a section of 75 marks, Similarly abstract reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude will contain 25 and 50 questions respectively of 1 mark each. Also, there is a Reading comprehension and Verbal ability section which will be having 50 questions of 1 mark each.
Preparation Tips
  • Brushing Up Basics-
For preparing yourself for exam such as MH-CET itself, you should be all clear in mind about the basics of what you’re attempting you should read articles, solve reasoning questions and puzzles, and clear all the topics’ basics rules and tricks in quant. The question asked are based on basics 10th standard level, but in a complex form so first clear your basics up guys.

  • Mock Test and online Material-
After brushing up your basics on quant, reasoning and language, you should start practicing more and more on each topic separately and try to solve at least 1 mock test paper per day. The key is that practice more so you get more chances to cracking MH-CET.  There are plenty of study material available online, try to gulp as much as you can. You can also consider study material offline by some coaching institutes.

  • Syllabus-
Cover each topic from the online prescribed syllabus. Check the exam pattern and marking scheme before starting your preparation. Candidates are advised to visit the MH-CET website to check regular updates regarding the exam so that they also remain aware about the exam’s related updates

  • Manage Time
MH-CET has 200 questions without minus marking, so it is easy to lured on attempting all the questions, but remember you should only attempt those question in which you are 100% confident, as there is a strict time allotted to every section and you have to complete the respective section in the provided time only. Reasoning has the highest concentration of questions in the test so you should practice Reasoning as much as you can.
