The Indian Institute of Management-Jammu is the last IIM inaugurated in 2016, is a public, autonomous Business School located in Jammu, India Professor B.S. Sahay is the Founder Director of IIM Jammu. IIM Jammu is currently offering Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and Doctoral Program (Ph.D.) in Management as per Indian Institute of Management Act 2017. The student intake is 140 for Masters of Business Administration (MBA) program for the year 2019. Earlier, due to political tension situation in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, many students and faculty were not willing to participate in the academics of IIM Jammu, but it is now become one of the most popular “Baby IIMs”.
IIM Jammu-Admission and Eligibility
  • IIM Jammu admission eligibility criteria require that the candidate must hold a bachelor's degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (in case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST/PWD category, the eligibility criterion is relaxed to 45%

  • The candidate should appear in CAT 2019 exam and must score minimum prescribed sectional and overall score to become eligible for admission at IIM Jammu

  • If the candidate is awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence to determine PGP admission eligibility would be based on the equivalence certified by the institution/university from where the bachelor's degree is obtained.

  • A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results is also eligible to apply for IIM Jammu Admission 2020

  • IIM Jammu Eligibility criterion further clarifies that such a candidate, if selected, will become ineligible for the IIM Jammu admission unless he/she submits a certificate latest by June 30, 2020 from authority of the institute.

 IIM Jammu-Admission Process
  • The candidate must have appeared and scored the minimum required sectional and overall percentile in CAT 2019 to be considered for first stage screening process for admission at IIM Jammu
  • Candidates are short-listed for CAP round comprising Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT) from among the candidates who have a valid CAT-2019 score and who have applied for IIM Jammu Admission
  • Shortlisting process from the pool of the candidates will be done by CAP 2020 coordinating IIM.
  • After the CAP round, admission offers are made by IIM Jammu to successful candidates who have reconfirmed interest to IIM Jammu. The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in WAT & PI, Performance in past academics, Performance in CAT 2019, Quality of Work Experience among others
  • Final Admission Offer will be made in the last week of May 2020 on the basis of Final Score arrived after awarding the weightage scores on all the components. The academic session as IIM Jammu begins in July 2020.
