International Management Institute, Kolkata is a premium B-School located in West Bengal; the college was established in 2010. The Institute started functioning in the year 2011 with its flagship Post Graduate Diploma in Management Program currently accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for a period of two years effective from July 2016. In 2017, the Institute of six years also obtained the approval from All India Council for Technical Education to launch the Fellow Program in Management (FPM), a Ph. D. level program. IMI Kolkata belongs to the IMI family of B-Schools in India. IMI came up with its first campus at New Delhi in the year 1981. IMI New Delhi was established in collaboration with IMI Geneva (now IMD Lausanne).
IMI-Kolkata-Eligibility and Admission Criteria
  • Valid score in the Common Admissions Test (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management.
  • Graduates (or professional qualification equivalent to that of a University degree recognized by the UGC) in any discipline with first class or 50% marks earned in their degree from a recognized/reputed University.
  • Final year students are also eligible to apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally, on the condition that they meet all requirements for the qualifying degree before the start of the program and will produce provisional certificate of completion within two months of joining the program. 
  • Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. If selected, such candidates will be allowed to join the programs provisionally, only if she/he submits a certificate by certain date.

IMI Kolkata-Admission Process
  • Shortlisting – Candidates on the basis of CAT/ XAT/ GMAT scores, academic qualification, work experience will receive the call to participate in the selection process, candidates are shortlisted on the basis of scores in exams like CAT/XAT/GMAT and marks in graduation.

  • Psychometric Test – This round includes a test which checks the candidates’ decision-making ability. This is a IMI Kolkata designed test to test the candidates ability to cope up with the business scenario and certain market conditions.

  • Essay Writing – After that essay writing will conduct on any of the topics for say abstract topics, current affairs etc. This test is done to test the candidates’ knowledge and writing skills.

  • Personal Interview – In the last round, a personal interview will take place to analyze a candidates’ communication skills, knowledge etc. Interview is a very important criteria in any of the colleges, and the candidate need to crack the interview in order to be considered on the final selection the management programs in the institute.

  • Final Admission – After all the rounds, selected candidates will get the intimation to take the final admission.
