The Indian Institute of Management, Visakhapatnam is a premier B-School located in southern state of Andhra Pradesh. It is one of the twenty Indian Institute of Management inaugurated under 11th five year plan. The institution started the first batch of its Post Graduate Program (PGP) in Management from August 2015. Visakhapatnam also known as Vizag) is the largest city and the financial capital of the state of Andhra Pradesh. The city is the administrative headquarters of Visakhapatnam district and the Eastern Naval Command of Indian Navy. Its geographical location is amidst Eastern Ghats mountain range and the coast of Bay of Bengal.
IIM Visakhapatnam-Admission and Eligibility Criteria
- IIM Visakhapatnam eligibility criteria require that the candidate must hold a bachelor's degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (in case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST/PWD category, the eligibility criterion is relaxed to 45%
- The candidate should appear in CAT 2019 exam and must score minimum prescribed sectional and overall score to become eligible for admission at IIM Visakhapatnam
- If the candidate is awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence to determine PGP admission eligibility would be based on the equivalence certified by the institution/university from where the bachelor's degree is obtained
- A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results is also eligible to apply for IIM Visakhapatnam Admission 2020.
- IIM Visakhapatnam Eligibility criterion further clarifies that such a candidate, if selected, will become ineligible for the IIM Visakhapatnam admission unless he/she submits a certificate latest by June 30, 2020 from any authority of the institute.

IIM-Visakhapatnam-Admission Process
- The candidate must have appeared and scored the minimum required sectional and overall percentile in CAT 2019 to be considered for first stage screening process for admission at IIM Visakhapatnam
- Candidates are short-listed for Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT) from among the candidates who have a valid CAT-2019 score, who have excellent academics, who have applied to the program, who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the PGP program and have reconfirmed their interest to pursue PGP at IIM Visakhapatnam in response to their e-mail.
- IIM Visakhapatnam will identify many candidates for shortlisting for the PI round with an excellent academic record and work experience but who may have narrowly missed the high score that would have been required if CAT alone was the basis for the PI shortlist. Such candidates will be preferred in the shortlisting process as against those who have only a high CAT score but have poor academic profile and poor quality of work experience.
- After the WAT & PI round, admission offers are made by IIM Visakhapatnam to successful candidates. The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in WAT & PI, Performance in past academics, Performance in CAT 2019, Quality of Work Experience among others
