ADMISSION CRITERIA AND SELECTION PROCESS OF IIM-KOZHIKODE
Institute of Management Technology (IIM) , Kozhikode application process has been started.
Admission Criteria in IIM-Kozhikode
Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode was the fifth IIM to be established in India. It was established in 1996 by Government of India with collaboration with Government of Kerala in Calicut (Kozhikode). This year CAT is being conducted by IIM Kozhikode, last IIM Kozhikode conducted CAT was 2012. IIM Kozhikode holds 8th rank in the top B-Schools in India. IIM-Kozhikode has managed to perform a consecutive development in their growth from over the time. IIM Kozhikode has a strong International Exchange Programme for students and faculty with several leading Management Institutes in EU and ASEAN countries like SDA, Bacconi, Jonkoping, Sweden, Copenhagen Business School, Denmark, ESCAP-EAP, France; University of Queensland, Austria, Victoria University of Wellington among others.
Admission Criteria
- IIM Kozhikode Eligibility criteria required that the candidate must hold a bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration after class 12, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (in case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST/PwD category, the eligibility criterion is relaxed to 45%
- IIM Kozhikode Admission Eligibility criterion required the applicant to appear in CAT 2018 exam and must score minimum prescribed sectional and overall percentile score to become eligible for next stage of shortlisting
- A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and awaiting results were also eligible to apply for IIM Kozhikode Admission 2019-21.
- The shortlisting for final selection round in IIM Kozhikode Admission Criteria awarded 75% weight to CAT 2018 score, 20% weight to Class XII score and 5% to Diversity.
- The candidate must have scored minimum sectional percentile of 80 in each of the three sections of CAT 2018 – Quantitative Aptitude' (QA), ‘Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning' (DILR) and ‘Verbal and Reading Comprehension' (VRC).
- A candidate must have scored minimum overall percentile of 90 in CAT 2019.
IIM Kozhikode eligibility criteria 2019 had made it mandatory for CAT 2018 aspirants to score a minimum of 90 overall and 80 sectional percentile in CAT 2018 to become eligible for shortlisting for final admission round. One of the biggest shortlisting parameters in IIM Kozhikode admission criteria 2019 was its high weightage to CAT 2018 score which carried a weight of 75% as against other top IIMs who awarded lower weight to CAT scores.
Selected Candidates than gives PI-WAT i.e., Personal Interview-Written Ability Test.
PI-WAT Evaluation
Essay Writing (WAT) & GD on Same Topic
- In the Essay Writing Test, the candidate had to write a short essay and participate in group discussion on the same topic
- The topic was announced at the venue just before the GD/WAT.
- The topics were based on current political, economic, sports, business affairs, etc.
Personal Interview (PI)
- Personal Interview (PI) followed the WAT/GD round on the same day same session
- During the personal interview, the panel evaluated the academic background, quality of work experience and other personal traits
- The PI-WAT process was over in half day session either morning or afternoon
