JEE- MAINS 2020
Joint Entrance Exam, Previously known as AIEEE (All India engineering entrance exams). JEE, is one of the engineering entrance tests with highest number of candidates, approx 12 lakh students appeared in 2019 for JEE Mains. JEE 2020 will be organized by National Test agency (NTA). This exam will be conducted primarily for prestigious IITs (Indian Institute of Technology), apart from IITs there are more than 3000 colleges which may take admission on the basis of JEE Mains score of a candidate. JEE Mains is the most celebrated engineering entrance test in India, JEE Mains also boasts of the highest number of participants in any entrance test all over the country, that can be a topic for debate, so we will leave it to that. Engineering is no doubt the single most popular profession in India, so it can be safe to say that JEE Mains which is entrance test for mostly all the engineering college in India is the most popular entrance test in India.
Due to changes made by the National Testing Agency (NTA), JEE Mains will now be conducted in two sessions, once in January, and second in April. For the January session the registrations are going to end on 30th September.

Key changes-
- The biggest and foremost change in conducting of JEE Mains exams is change in its cycle, earlier the exam was conducted only once a year in march-April, but now due to changes brought by National Testing Agency (NTA) JEE Mains will be held twice a year, once in January and second in April. Students will be allowed to appear for either one or both the sessions, and only their best score will be considered final.
- The number of questions to be asked in the JEE exam has been reduced from 30 to 25, and out of the 25 questions, 20 will be multiple-choice, and 5 will be numerical questions.
- Mathematics, physics and chemistry will be given equal score. Each question will be for four marks and for objective type questions, one mark will be deducted for every wrong answer while for numerical-type questions, there will be no negative marking.
- The drawing test for B. Arch, which is now for 100 marks, used to have three questions earlier. Henceforth, it will have only two questions. The B. Arch paper will carry 77 questions instead of 81.
- For the first time in the history of JEE mains, the B. Planning exam will be held separately. Its exam pattern is that it will also have three parts—I, II, III—that will be Mathematics (just like in B. Arch), the Aptitude test (also like B. Arch), and Planning based (multiple-choice) questions.
- This year onwards, having a lesser number of negative responses in the paper can help a candidate secure a good rank in case there is a tie.
